Past Lives

A film about the weight of choices-the lives we don't live, the people we don't become. Celine Song's directorial debut is achingly beautiful in its restraint.

The central question the film asks isn't "what if?" but rather "who would I have been?" And that's a far more devastating question.

Greta Lee and Teo Yoo bring such quiet intensity to their performances. The silences between their words carry as much meaning as the dialogue itself.

The final scene stayed with me for days. The way it holds on Nora's face as she walks home-that's cinema doing what only cinema can do.
