Anatomy of a Fall

A courtroom drama that's really about the impossibility of truly knowing another person-even (especially?) your spouse.

Sandra Huller is magnetic. She plays Sandra (the character) with such opacity that you're never quite sure what to believe, and that uncertainty is the whole point.

The film is three hours long and I felt every minute, but not in a bad way. It takes its time because the subject demands it. Truth doesn't reveal itself quickly.

The dog. That dog. Without spoiling anything, the way Triet uses the family dog is masterful.
